Aberdeen
Waldorf School Aberdeen, Scotland. more/less
As in
the human being, the physical body is the means
by which the soul gains experience of itself.
One can draw an analogy in architecture in
that the building is the means by which the
soul of the school can perceive itself.
The design can make visible something of the
image of the world that we wish to impart to
our children through their education.
This can be approached through colour, movement
and gesture where the interplay of these three
can enhance the experience of the child’s
place in the world as a developing individuality.
The more artistically this can be achieved,
the more readily each one can experience themselves
as standing in a healthy relationship between
the sense-perceptible and the supersensible
realms. This ultimately is freedom in education.
